Zechariah

Why Should Women Read Zechariah?

God does not desire His army of saints to be unprepared or unfit for battle. Obedience to the Lord often comes with opposition from the Devil. Women are not exempt from spiritual warfare—the war over souls. Even in the midst of great hostility, a past fraught with sin and disobedience by Israel’s ancestors and a present heavily burdened with oppression, Zechariah’s message is one of repentance in the face of the enemy. Zechariah is a reminder that there is great hope in the Lord for those who follow Him, and our ultimate hope is in Christ. There will be victory!

Zechariah...Written On My Heart

The book of Zechariah provides a guide to spiritual renewal for individual hearts. Spiritual renewal begins with an inner decision to turn to the Lord and then proactive steps, which include prayer and fasting, to rid your life of sin. There is a spiritual battle that rages for the very souls of women and men, and any attempt to turn to the Lord is attacked. Paul says that, “our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens” (Eph 6:12). While the evil of this world is against you, Zechariah reminds his readers that Christ, the Victor, fights for  you.
